Garden School’s Commitment to Kindness and Connection: Fostering Community at Every Step
At Garden School, we believe in the power of community—both within our school and in the vibrant Jackson Heights neighborhood. As soon as you step onto our campus, you'll feel the friendly, relaxed atmosphere that defines our school culture. This welcoming environment fosters a strong sense of belonging, built on the values of kindness, responsibility, and citizenship.
Our students are not only learning academic subjects—they are becoming compassionate and responsible individuals. Through various clubs, activities, and school-wide initiatives, they engage with each other and the world around them. Whether it's participating in local community service projects or traveling on field trips to neighboring states or even international destinations, students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of involvement and making a positive difference.
A core value of Garden School is service learning. From nursery through high school, students are encouraged to give back to their communities. Parents play an essential role in this process by volunteering their time and skills, enriching school life and supporting school-wide initiatives often organized by the PTA.
Our Campus: A Nurturing and Secure Environment
Garden School’s campus, nestled in the historic district of Jackson Heights, provides a safe, enriching environment where students can learn and grow. Our peaceful, tree-lined block on 79th Street houses a fully enclosed campus that spans half the block. Since moving to this location in 1928, we've continually expanded and improved our facilities to better meet the needs of our students.
State-of-the-Art Facilities for Every Student
Our campus is home to a variety of facilities designed to support our comprehensive curriculum and extracurricular programs:
